In this download you will find the very latest version of "Making the Grade," with which you may update your original MTG Program Disks and installed-to Hard Drives.
BEWARE! ALERT! ATTENTION! PLEASE NOTE! HEY!
This particular edition of the program will update ONLY non-tailored Versions 7.1m and later on High Density floppies. If you have Version 7.1j or earlier (or a personalized TEACHER-TAILORED disk), you must return your Program Disk to us for just one more rebuild. (Don't forget the obligatory $5.00 for postage and handling for our student update staff!)
OK, if you presently have 7.1m or later, all you must do to update your floppy is . . .
1. Locate the original MTG Program Disk from which you installed the older version of
Making the Grade™ (7.1m or later) onto your hard drive.
2. Next, trash the older copy of MTG (7.1m or later) from the floppy itself. NOTE: DO
NOT ERASE THE FLOPPY COMPLETELY! It has some invisible files on it you do NOT
want to lose. (You might want or need to trash the READ ME file, Sample Gradebook,
and “pointing” folder from the floppy in order to make plenty of room there.)
3. Now drag the Version 7.6 you downloaded from the Internet onto your original
Program Disk. NOTE: If you get a disk error message during the copying process,
rebuild the desktop on the floppy by ejecting it and reinserting it with the Command
and Option keys held down.
Now, all you have to do to update your hard drive is . . .
Double-click on the new MTG application you downloaded from the Internet (Version
7.6), and sit back while it decompresses to full size.
ALERT: We strongly recommend that you do not trash your older MTG
application until you successfully launch the newer 7.6!
Of course, from this point on all you ever have to do is get the latest version of the program onto your "blessed" Hard Drive any way you can, double-click on it to decompress, and GO.
